A Study Of Artificial Intelligence and Human Eyewitness Testimony With Effects Of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Abstract

Background: Eyewitness testimony is essential to the legal system’s ability to establish facts andmake decisions. However, a number of circumstances, such as trauma-induced memory distortion,may affect the credibility of such testimony and result in incorrect convictions or acquittals. Materials and methods: Eighty participants spanning various age groups were included in thestudy, with forty chosen randomly and the remaining forty selected from a sample population.Participants completed two questionnaires—a self-developed opinion scale and the Post TraumaticStress Disorder Checklist (PCL5). Data analysis involved comparing responses between those withverified PTSD symptoms and those without, utilizing both questionnaires. Result: according to the result of study of 80 participants showed that this is significant differencein the favourability of AI eyewitness testimony between participants with PTSD symptoms andwithout PTSD symptoms based on an AI opinion survey scale and PCL5 scale. The value ofcovariance showed that this is a significant difference between the relationships. Conclusion: when comparing there is significant difference between the inclination towards AIand human eyewitness testimony based on the effects of PTSD.
