To Study the Level of Suicide Prevalence in Youth

Background: Numerous studies have investigated the phenomenon of youth suicide and theapplication of artificial intelligence (AI) within this context. Research has delved into variousaspects, including gender-specific suicidal tendencies, causative factors, and methodologies foridentifying at-risk individuals to mitigate suicide rates. Prior literature highlights thedevelopment of AI-driven tools for suicide detection and prevention among youngpopulations.

Materials and methods: This study was conducted on 80 students of age between 18-24. Theywere picked on random basis, and they were asked to complete a questionnaire that includes1.Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation (BSSI). 2. AI tool – Dr. Mind App (using ColumbianSuicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS). Out of 80 students, 40 were males and 40 werefemales. Then data was analyzed.

Result: According to the results of study of 80 students showed that there is no significantdifference in the prevalence of suicidal tendencies between male and female universitystudents based on both Becks scale for suicide ideation and AI tool used in the research. Theresult of – test showed that there is a significant difference at 0.05 between the outcomes of AIbased testing and manual assessments in identifying suicidal tendencies among theparticipants.

Conclusion: when comparing the results there is no significant difference in the suicidaltendencies between male and female students and there is significant difference in theoutcomes of AI and manual testing.
